Bleeding Control Kit

Bleeding control kits are essential for dealing with life-threatening bleeding, particularly in higher-risk environments such as workplaces, public venues, and transport hubs.

A typical kit includes five key components: a CAT 7 tourniquet, a vented chest seal, a 6-inch emergency bandage, shears, and a haemostatic agent such as Celox. Each item has a clear role, from stopping severe limb bleeding and managing chest injuries, to controlling large wounds and allowing rapid access to the casualty.

Haemostatic gauze, such as Celox Rapid Z-Fold, is used for wound packing and helps control severe bleeding quickly, even in challenging conditions where normal clotting may be impaired.

These kits provide a fast, effective response when it matters most, helping to improve outcomes in serious incidents.

Bleeding control training emphasises the importance of a quick, effective response. Highlighting this in training and awareness campaigns can significantly increase the number of bystanders who can take action during emergencies. Bleeding control kits are a cornerstone of this initiative, equipping individuals with the tools needed to save lives.

At High Peak First Aid, all our training courses cover how to stop a life-threatening bleed. Our comprehensive courses equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills to use bleeding-control kits effectively in emergencies. Our training venue also features an on-site shop where participants can practice with the actual items contained in our bleeding control kits during their training.

Investing in a bleeding control kit and training to use it significantly enhances your preparedness for emergencies.
