COVID 19 Update

We are still open and will continue to run courses unless the UK Government applies restrictions on all travel.  Regarding hygiene, I personally do the following at the end of every course:

  • Change all mannequin lungs and disinfect mannequin body (you will receive a disposable and individual face shield on the course for your mannequin.  Current best practice for  breaths and CPR will be explained.
  • All work surfaces, hand rails, equipment used and touched are cleaned with hospital grade disinfectant
  • I personally wash the cups in very hot water and rinse (we have no tea towels so air dry)
  • We have no towels on the premises as we use disposable paper for hand drying and drying of cups if needed
  • We have a hospital grade floor that is also disinfected
  • We use Dyson hot and cold fans to heat the building and purify the air (I am not stating that this removes Corona Virus but is great if you have asthma)

Twenty two years of first aid and pre-hospital care training

High Peak First Aid is now in their 22nd year of trading thanks to all of our clients. For 2019 we have made a significant investment into our training facility and equipment along with introducing new courses.

One of our key investments has been high fidelity moulage and models for wound packing and tourniquet training.  The treatment of life threatening bleeds is a feature on the High Peak Wilderness First Aid Courses.  The Wilderness First Aid courses are modular and range from 8-24hrs long and are suitable for use in the UK and overseas.  The High Peak Wilderness First Aid Module 1 is UK based and used by support staff on the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and for some Governing Body Awards.  Module 1 and 2 or the High Peak Wilderness First Aid 16hr course is an outdoor first aid course for use in the UK and overseas. Module 3 or the High Peak Wilderness First Aid Expedition Leader module can be added at any time or completed as a three day course held once a month at our training facility in the Peak District.

In addition we have an onsite shop with a steadily growing product range including the full range of Celox products.  If you are attending an outdoor first aid course, First Response Emergency Care 3 (FREC 3), or First Response Emergency Care 4 (FREC 4) for example, we have twenty two years of experience to supply you with either a bespoke first aid kit or a full on pre-hospital care bag for use in the UK or in remote areas overseas.

Outdoor First Aid

High Peak First Aid has eight outdoor first aid courses every month.  These are held every Wednesday and Thursday and every weekend.  Over 21 years we have trained over 25.000 people with the courses being accepted by the major governing bodies such as the Mountain Training Association, British Canoeing and MIAS to name a few.

This outdoor first aid course comes with our waterproof wilderness first aid book.  In addition all course participants have access to a comprehensive selection of first aid supplies at discounted prices from our first aid supplies shop.  You can see current availability for this outdoor first aid course here.

There is the option to also attend the First Response Emergency Care Level 3 after the High Peak Wilderness First Aid Course.  If this option is taken, we deduct the £144 off the cost of the FREC 3 course.  Details of FREC 3 can be seen here.
