Another lockdown on the way? Our FREC 3 promise.

We have been providing our blended FREC 3 courses over the past few months. This consists of 10 x 2hr Modules via Zoom for theory with a Tutor.  The theory is a mix of videos, quizzes and discussions followed by two days on-site for practical work and assessments. We have completed a number of courses this way now and it is a great way to get started.  Theory is theory and has to be done and far better if your own home, with a cup of tea and snacks than sat in a classroom wearing a mask.

The other bonus is that if you live more than a daily drive away from our centre in the Peak District, you only have two days of accommodation to pay for. COVID restrictions and lockdowns change rapidly, so at least you get the theory done at home and if you cannot make the two days on-site for practicals and assessments we move you to the next date. You have twenty weeks to complete the FREC 3. We promise to leave nobody behind, so if you start with us we will ensure you complete the training.

Below is an overview of the January dates. More will be added for February onwards. If you cannot make our advertised dates, please email as we can accommodate you. The next two dates on-site are January 23-24 and February 13-14.

If you need to spread the cost, each module is £59.40 and when all ten are paid for this also includes your two days on-site.

You can book each module here

Alternatively, please email info@highpeakfirstaid.co.uk with your dates and we will send over our bank details. We are not closing over the holidays so all emails are replied to every day and evening.

Additional FREC 3 dates

Blended learning for FREC 3 has been going ahead over the last couple of weeks and has received positive feedback. Participants have stated they appreciate the pre-course preparation on our learning portal, the short, tutor lead sessions and then having the opportunity to receive the module material on the learning portal. So in effect, three opportunities to cover the information. We make our own videos, so they are relevant and to the point. We also use other media such as YouTube where appropriate.

You can spread the modules out over a number of weeks. I have put an overview of the additional and new dates below. Each module is £59.40, so you pay for them all at once, of if needed, you can pay as you go to spread the cost. The cost of the two days on-site for the practicals and assessments is already paid for within the 10 x 2hr theory modules.

We have to do theory as part of FREC 3 and under the current situation, staying at home, meeting other via your PC and learning is a great option.

You can see the table below to check against your diary. Bookings and more explanations are here

FREC 3 Guaranteed Dates

Lockdown 2 is here but we are still working to give you the course dates you need. If you have time to spare, we are providing the First Response Emergency Care (FREC 3) in a modular format. Qualsafe, the Awarding Body states we can provide part virtual and Tutor lead learning via your PC to cover the theory modules and then attendance on-site at our training facility for two dates when it is safe to do so. You have twenty weeks to complete this prehospital care qualification. Below is an overview of the Modules and times available. You can book these here Alternatively, if it is easier select Modules that need to be completed from 1-10, then contact us at info@highpeakfirstaid.co.uk or 07931 360328 for direct access to a Tutor.

You can pay for all Modules or pay as you go. Once all 10 x 2hr Modules are paid for, the two on-site days are included at no extra cost. Originally, I was not convinced about blended learning. However, the feedback so far has been very positive. On booking, we give you access to our online learning portal to get ready for the Module. After this, you can go to the portal to consolidate learning before the next Module. You will also have access to our own flashcards, games and video’s online, meaning there is something for all styles of learning.

We are a 24/7 global business

High Peak First Aid has always been an adaptable business, more so now than ever. We are offering blended learning on courses to allow you to continue with first aid and prehospital care training. The theory aspect of each course will be held via your PC and will be Tutor lead. It is the same as sitting in a class but you get to stay in the comfort of your own home, no worries about coronavirus, no mask and a cup of tea to hand.

Remote learning via a PC is not about looking at a Tutor talking to you. Learning via a PC is interacting with other participants who you can see as well as the Tutor. You will have the opportunity to enter our immersive classroom via your PC and decide the outcome of the patient during the lesson. You can even talk to the patient and they will reply in real time. Our immersive classroom has hundreds of interactive scenes plus the additional scenes we have added from our 360 camera/video recorder.

After the module you will be invited to our online learning resource to reinforce your knowledge before the next module. Our learning resource has explainer videos, text, case studies, flip cards and games. The learning is segregated into what you need to know and learn plus extra learning options if you want to explore topics in more detail.

The final part of your training is to attend our venue in the Peak District for the practical element. As you have already covered the theory and reinforced your understanding you will benefit more when it comes to the practical elements.

Another major plus point is that we have divided the theory into small chunks to be taken at a time to suit, so you can learn early morning, day time, evening and weekends. If you need help, we give you a Tutors number so you can use WhatsApp. We are open from 0600hrs-2100hrs seven days a week for those on GMT and by arrangement at other times for clients in different time zones. All you need is a PC and internet connection. We will also help you set this up if you are not sure how to get started.

We understand that some people want face to face training. This will still be available when restrictions are lifted. However, to continue the best we all can in this ever changing situation, the model above is the best option. As a Company Director I was sceptical about remote learning but am now a convert when I see the standard our learners can achieve. On a training course you have limited time to learn, plus we have COVID compliance to deal with. We all learn at a different rate, so remote learning via a PC, reinforced in a variety of ways between modules and before the practical element puts you in a far better position for learning, retaining and implementing your new skills and knowledge. If you are not sure, give it a try and you might just become a convert.

Open for training

New opportunities for learning. Due to local and possible national impending restrictions, we are offering blended learning on our courses for those who cannot or do not want to travel. This is being activated over the next 7 days to coincide with our new website.

The first qualification with this option is First Response Emergency Care (FREC 3). We are approved by Qualsafe to hold theory modules via your PC, combined with two days practical training at our three classrooms in the Peak District.

This interactive and tutor lead experience means you can interact via PC from the comfort of your own home, paying for FREC 3 modules as you go and at a time to suit as we have day, weekend and evening slots available. You can see details of how this works for the FREC 3 here

Further details will be released over the next few days for other first aid and prehospital care qualifications.
