Another date has been added for December 9-13 due to other dates filling this side of Christmas. This comprehensive course enables an expedition leader to feel confident in remote areas to deal with a range of first aid incidents. This course is particularly useful to those travelling to areas that are affected by natural disaster such as flood, GLOF, tsunami and earthquake. First Aid Supplies
The first aid supplies shop is here. Products will be added daily as we have several hundred items in stock to sell. More categories will be added and the current categories will be expanded. We have bespoke kits: the first to be added is our popular Mountain Leader First Aid Kit, the next first aid kits to be added will be our Duke of Edinburgh’s Award First Aid Kits and Expedition First Aid Kits. You can book a course and add the first aid supplies to your basket ready to collect when you arrive on a course. There is also the option to visit our on site shop when attending a course as we also have a card payment machine in the office. We split the packs so you do not have to buy more than you need.

Discount Coupons Wilderness First Aid 16hrs
For visiting our new website there are a limited amount of discount coupons for the High Peak Wilderness First Aid 16hr courses. By attending this course you receive a first aid certificate specifically for outdoor activities. You also receive the Emergency First Aid at Work 6hr certification at no extra cost. This EFAW also includes the use of haemostatic dressings, crush injuries, heat and cold related disorders and Lyme disease which is benefits those working in remote environments. The course also includes instruction in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator to enable you to feel confident to use an AED if the need arose in a public place or at your place of work. High Peak First Aid also sells AED’s and spares: these can be seen in the online shop that will go live this week.
By attending a course with us you will also have access to discounted first aid supplies and receive our robust, waterproof wilderness first aid book and casualty card. Most of our courses now have trained casualties to enable you to have more time to practise. The casualties are medical students or from an amateur dramatics society to make the scenarios as realistic as possible: feedback so far has been very positive. Wilderness First Aid Expedition Leader (40hr)
A busy week on the High Peak Wilderness First Aid Expedition Leader 40hr course. Basic through to advanced skills have been learnt and practised. One of the highlights of the week was the successful completion of a Triage exercise where 72 adults and children were located and prioritised. Other features of the course was an interactive lecture and discussion on altitude illness prevention, recognition and treatment. The penultimate day concentrated on IV cannulation followed by practical scenarios outside: this was enhanced by assistance from two medical students who also performed the role of casualties for the course participants. This course is suitable for expedition leaders, in particular for those leading expeditions to remote areas in developing countries. The first aid supplies part of the website is almost here. There has been a lengthy search for a shipping agent to find the best possible price. All orders up to 2kg will go by royal mail starting at £2.80 and for any larger orders up to 30kg the fee is £7.95. There will be the option to collect from our office by prior appointment. If you attend a course you can purchase items to collect on the day. For pre-existing clients we have discounted tokens for you to use in the shop and will be emailing them to you over the next few weeks.
There are a huge variety of first aid kits to suit all sports from mountaineering to caving. There is the option to buy off the shelf first aid kits or to choose a bespoke kit for your outdoor activity or workplace. If you are still unsure we are happy to advise and make a kit to your exact specification for use in the UK or on overseas expeditions. There will be the opportunity to buy in bulk and we will be splitting packs so you can purchase in small quantities.
