Nicola Pickering

Nicola has been providing first aid training for 17 years and has accumulated over 20,000hrs of training.  Prior to this she spent 15 years working in Adventure Training.  Work experience has entailed providing Mountain First Aid Training for the Joint Services Mountain training Wings JSMTC (I) and (R) for ten years, NATO – Italy, the Combined Cadet Adventurous Training Centre and providing courses for Adventure Travel companies in Spain, France and Nepal.   Her practical experience comes from 6 years with Buxton Mountain Rescue Team, then 7 years with Derbyshire Cave Rescue. Other relevant experience includes spending a  season at a rescue post in Nepal and experience in the Army Reserves.

  • Mountainbiking, again with a total lack of style
  • Field Target Shooting
  • Fishing – Japanese Tenkara
  • Riding Royal Enfields in Nepal and battered Honda 125’s round Kathmandu’s Ring Road instead of track days at Donnington
  • Totally unhealthy hobby of collecting stretchers and delivering them to remote destinations
  • Trail running..on a mission that involves heat and extreme discomfort….details coming.
