The RTACC course is set at Level E on the PHEM skills framework and is a scenario based course that uses live actors. This is a Level 3 qualification regulated by Qualsafe Awards. We pride ourselves on high fidelity scenarios using working actors trained in medical and trauma conditions. We only use the best and realistic casualty simulation made by leading companies to TV and film standard.
The course is a mix of short, visually stimulating lectures punctuated by regular practical exercises and simulations. The course is for:
High Risk Workplaces
The course tutor has 22 years training experience in the UK, Middle East and Asia for the British Army, Governments, NGOs, educational establishments and companies operating in high risk environments. Additional experience comes from an MSC in Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management that has been put to use providing training in Nepal prior to the Earthquake in 2015. The focus of the MSc dissertation was how competency in training for high risk environments increased by using high fidelity simulations and active learning: this is incorporated into our RTACC training. When not providing training, the tutor is working for completion of a Hazardous Environment Medicine Paramedic programme.
The training venue at High Peak First Aid is in an ideal location in the Peak National Park. We have equipment above and beyond the course specification along with a variety of environments to conduct both urban and remote scenarios. High Peak First Aid is also a stockist of pre-hospital care equipment, so there is the opportunity to use quality, robust equipment from major brands before purchasing your own. At High Peak First Aid we train nearly every day of the year so all items we sell have been thoroughly tested in all weathers.
